Detoxifing Clay Mask: Sukin Australian Natural Skincare

Detoxifing Clay Mask: Sukin Australian Natural Skincare

Onwards the natural beauty journey progresses!

I’ve slowly been exploring a more natural approach to my beauty and skincare regime and whilst I don’t usually buy cosmetics from supermarket chains, I found myself curiously strolling the aisles of a suburban Priceline. Now, I have zero time for the likes of Maybelline, Revlon, Loreal or Neutrogena (too many harmfuls and weirdness in those products) but I am open to interesting cheaper products that claim to be natural/paraben free etc. Enter Sukin

I purchased their clay detoxifying super greens mask and a rose water face mist. I’m not a regular user of clay masks, I think because my skin aways was on the dry to very dry side and I was always under the impression clay was like a “moisture sucker” and only for oily/acne prone skin. The Sukin product claims

“A clay based masque infused with kale, spirulina and parsley to promote a clean, healthy and glowing complexion.
Kale, spirulina, parsley and chlorella offer a super green blend of detoxifying antioxidants and vitamins to promote healthy, youthful skin. Avocado and Baobab lock in moisture while goji berry encourages a dewy complexion. A burst of cranberry provides an invigorating scent to refresh the senses.”

I found the application of the clay mask easy, it smells nice (non offensive and even green) and dries within about 15-20 mins. It’s key to not like the mask dry super flaky and suck the life outta your skin (I’ve just read an article that says that’s a big NO-NO when it comes to clay masks). My skin feels nice afterwards. I’d even say there was a bit of shine (general dewiness) for the next couple of days (so it definitely didn’t dry my skin out).

Will I be using it again? Absolutely! I will try this on a fortnightly basis at first then weekly if i feel my skin needs it. the toner was also lovely as a refresher after the mask, I didn’t put any moisturiser on top through. Another bonus: It’s under $12! HELLO! I’d say there’s at least 8 applications per tub so that’s super value for money.

Are you a mask/masque user? What’s your favourite brand?
