It is estimated Australians use 1 billion disposable coffee cups each year. A BILLION!!!!!! Not to mention coffee cups are estimated to be the second-largest contributor to litter waste after plastic bottles. I chuckled when I read a solution to this problem “Stop drinking coffee”. Neverrrrrrrr going to happen. Carrying a reusable cup is waaaaay more effective (and you get to keep your sanity)
A good quality reusable coffee cup has been on my to-buy list for a while now. It’s just one of those things I keep forgetting to grab and then large amounts of guilt surround me at the cafe when I purchase my coffee in a single use takeaway cup. I’ve had some mighty fine ugly reusable cups in the past- they have shitty lids, spill easily and aren’t easy to clean. Enter Uppercup reusable coffee cup
Uppercup is a new female led business, Aussie made and owned, eco friendly, stylish and sleek and therefore I feel totally smug about saving the environment- hello HERO STATUS! Look how pretty these cups are!
What do I love about it? BPA free, odour resistant, dishwasher safe, great seal, the cup has a nice feel to it (nice and snug in your palm plus it has that glass-like feel) and barista friendly- I even got a discount for BYOing my own cup.
I’ve made a firm rule with myself that unless I have my Uppercup with me I don’t get a takeaway coffee. I rinse it out immediately, so it’s never gross for my coffee dude.
Available in a small ($22rrp) and large ($25rrp) size in a range of colours, Uppercup is available nationally at www.321water.com and at selected cafés around the country.
